Genetics informs. It does not determine.
PHENIA is being developed as an educational wellness service. Genetic associations can provide context, but they do not define a person or reliably predict an individual outcome on their own.

About PHENIA
This pre-launch website is operated by PHENIA GENETICS LTD (company number 17438712), incorporated in England and Wales, with registered office at 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. This notice describes the intended limits of future PHENIA genetic and wellness information and Ask PHENIA for users in the United Kingdom and Canada.
Not medical care
PHENIA and Ask PHENIA are not intended to diagnose, prevent, treat or cure disease; provide medical, dietary or exercise prescriptions; assess emergencies; or replace a doctor, genetic counsellor, registered dietitian or other qualified professional. Seek professional advice for symptoms, medical concerns, pregnancy, medication, significant dietary changes or exercise risk.
Associations—not certainty
Most wellness, behavioural and performance traits are influenced by many genetic variants together with age, environment, training, sleep, nutrition, health, medication and other factors. A reported association is not proof of cause, destiny, talent, deficiency or future health.
Evidence varies
The strength and relevance of genetic evidence differs by trait, variant, study population and method. Some findings may not reproduce consistently or may explain only a small part of the differences between people. PHENIA should present only interpretations supported by its selected assay, evidence framework and quality controls.
Population limitations
Genetic studies have not represented all ancestry groups equally. An association established mainly in one population may be less informative in another. Results should state material evidence or population limitations where relevant.
Ask PHENIA limitations
Ask PHENIA may use genetic results and information a user chooses to provide as context. Its responses can be incomplete or wrong and should be treated as educational information, not professional judgement. Genetics should be used only when relevant to the question and supported by evidence.
Existing DNA uploads
Raw files from another provider differ in marker coverage, format and quality. PHENIA should first check compatibility and should not generate an interpretation where the necessary markers or quality information are unavailable. Uploading an existing file does not make every PHENIA report available.
Do not act on results alone
Do not start or stop medication or supplements, disregard symptoms, pursue extreme diets, materially change training, or make reproductive, insurance or employment decisions based solely on a PHENIA result or Ask PHENIA response.
Adults only
The planned direct-to-consumer service is intended for adults aged 18 or older. Testing children raises additional consent, privacy and welfare issues and is outside the current pre-launch scope.
Privacy and family implications
Genetic information is uniquely identifying and may reveal information relevant to biological relatives. Review the genetic-service privacy and consent documents carefully before providing a sample or uploading raw DNA. The current pre-launch Privacy Notice does not yet govern future laboratory testing.
PHENIA is not an emergency service. Contact local emergency services or an appropriate healthcare professional.
